Elaveezhapoonchira is one of the emerging tourist destinations in the gods own country, Kerala. Located near Melukavu, 60 km from Kottyam, the place is famous hill station and true to its name it has treeless topography and an ideal destination to see sun rise and sunset.
Situated amidst the three hillocks Mankunnu, Kudayathoormala and Thonnipara, the hill station is an ideal centre for trekking. According to legend, Draupadi, the female protagonist of the great Hindu epic Mahabharata used to take bath in the lake which is situated here. During the monsoon, its beauty becomes double and attracts thousand of tourist from all over the world.
